Family living in the Presidio Heights neighborhood of San Francisco, California with three children are seeking a professional, experienced, and educated full-time nanny. Schedule will be spilt between three full-time nannies. Nanny will live in during days they are working and live out on days they are off work. Nannies should be comfortable working many days consecutively. The position requires flexibility as family’s schedule changes at various times in the year (e.g., summer, travel, etc.). Typically family travels approximately ten weeks per year. Applicants need to be honest, trustworthy, understand the importance of maintaining discretion (confidentiality agreement is required), collaborative and experienced working with others, and principals that are at residence often (discretion and privacy is important). Family is open to local candidates and domestic relocations. Start date is flexible for the right candidate. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Infant experience and knowledgeable about routines, reading, and communicating to baby as often as possible

• Experienced with play-based learning and creating educational activities (e.g., planned engaging activities at home, developmentally appropriate games and activities, engaging projects and crafts, themed weeks, scheduled outings, etc.)

• Knowledgeable about child development (e.g., firm when necessary and capable of teaching children manners and etiquette, but also capable of being fun)

• Support teaching and reinforcement of manners and other social skills

• Assist children with homework and school projects (when age appropriate)

• Pack healthy lunches and prepare school bags for the next day

• Transport children to and from school, scheduled activities, play dates, outings, etc.

• Domestic duties relating to children (e.g., washing dishes after meals, assistance with children’s laundry, tidying playroom and bedrooms, etc.)

• Organizational projects relating to children (e.g., taking toys and clothing to donation, changing clothing seasonally, rotating books and toys quarterly or bi-annually, etc.)

• Packing children for trips, researching/planning activities at destination and ensuring appropriate gear is available at hotel or vacation house

• Diligent team player and comfortable wearing many hats while working alongside principals

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Capable of building rapport with similar aged children

• Experienced working with similar aged children (infants, toddlers, preschool, school aged, etc.)

• Experienced working with multiple children in a nanny position

• Ability to travel internationally and domestically

• Highly organized, detail oriented, proactive, excellent time management, efficient and service focused

• Observant to the needs of family and home to anticipate their needs (e.g., planning engaging activities at home, proactively planning activities for travel, etc.)

• Ability to maintain discretion (confidentiality agreement is required) and be discreet with respect for employer’s privacy

• Ability to easily take direction

• Strong ability to communicate and collaborate efficiently and effectively with principals

• Positive attitude and ability to handle position with ease and calm demeanor

• Excellent communication skills

• Professional

• Proactive, resourceful and take initiative to get things done

• Ability to multi-task

• Non-Smoker

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree and/or Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education or Early Childhood Development is most ideal, but bachelor’s degree is required

• 3-5+ years of consistent and recent full-time nanny experience

• 3-4 references from professional positions

• Seeking longevity (e.g., 2-5+ year commitment)

• Ability to complete extensive background checks, motor vehicle checks, drug tests, and psychological evaluation

• Driver’s license and clean driving record

• Pediatric CPR Certification

• Vaccinations (e.g., COVID-19, MMR, TDap, Flu Shot)

• COVID-19 testing and antibodies testing

• Trustline certification is required by state of California (http://trustline.org)

COMPENSATION:

• $120K+ gross annual salary (based on experience and qualifications)
