Full-Time Nanny Bilingual in Spanish and English: $100K+ and Benefits

Family with main residence in Wellington, Florida with five-year-old girl and two-year-old boy is seeking an experienced, professional, active, and engaging full-time nanny who is bilingual in Spanish and English.  When working at the main residence in Florida (typically between May/June through August), the nanny should expect to work five days per week, with an average of 60 hours per week.  When the Principals are not in residence in Florida, the nanny will be expected to travel with the family, and sometimes for extended periods. Approximately 10-15+ weeks of domestic and international travel per year is required. Nanny should be comfortable working many days consecutively. Although most summers the family resides in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, the travel schedule will vary each year, and depending on the location of travel, the nanny will travel with the family for a few weeks, followed by taking a couple weeks off.  The position requires extreme flexibility as the family’s schedule changes at various times in the year (e.g., summer, holidays, travel, etc.). Applicants need to be honest, trustworthy, understand the importance of maintaining discretion, collaborative and experienced working with family office and domestic staff (estate manager, house managers, private chef, housekeepers, housemen, etc.), experienced working with principals that are at residence often (discreet and staying out of the way is important) and comfortable with animals (family has estate with horses, dogs, cat, birds, rabbits, tortoises, etc.). Staff vehicle is provided for transporting children. Older child is enrolled in private school, which is driving distance from the family’s main residence. Family is open to local candidates and domestic relocations. Start date is flexible for the right candidate.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Experienced with play-based learning and creating educational activities (e.g. plan engaging, developmentally appropriate games and activities, projects and crafts, themed weeks, scheduled outings, etc.)

• Knowledgeable about child development (e.g., firm when necessary and capable of teaching children manners and etiquette, but also capable of being laid back and fun)

• Support teaching and reinforcement of manners and other social skills

• Provide developmentally appropriate games and activities, engaging projects and crafts at home and schedule/plan fun outings and events

• Assist children with homework and school projects (when age appropriate)

• Transport children to and from school, scheduled activities, sports, play dates, outings, etc.

• Prepare fresh and healthy meals for children that introduce them to new foods (communicating with private chef regarding food relating to children)

• Pack healthy lunches and prepare school bags for the next day

• Experienced with play-based learning and creating educational activities (e.g., planned engaging activities at home, developmentally appropriate games and activities, engaging projects and crafts, themed weeks, scheduled outings, etc.)

• Assist children with homework and school projects (when age appropriate)

• Support teaching and reinforcement of manners and other social skills

• Provide developmentally appropriate games and activities, engaging projects and crafts at home and schedule/plan fun outings and events

• Domestic duties relating to children (e.g., washing dishes after meals, tidying playroom and bedroom, packing and unpacking children for trips/ travel, etc.)

• Organizational projects relating to children (e.g., taking toys and clothing to donation, rotating children’s clothes seasonally, rotating books and toys quarterly or bi-annually, etc.)

• Pack children for travel, research and plan activities at destination and ensure appropriate gear is available at other residences, hotel or resort

• Diligent team player and willing to work collaboratively with other domestic staff, family office and principals

• Experienced and willing to be an extension of the parents collaborating and communicating frequently (previous experience working with principals that are around residence is ideal)

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Capable of building rapport with similar aged children

• Experienced working with similar aged children (toddlers, preschool, school aged, etc.)

• Experienced working with at least 2-3 children in nanny position 

• Ability to travel internationally and domestically whenever necessary

• Highly organized, detail oriented, proactive, excellent time management, efficient and service focused

• Attentive to principals’ preferences and style (intuitive to their needs)

• Observant to the needs of family to anticipate their needs (e.g., plan engaging activities at home, proactively plan activities for travel, etc.)

• Ability to maintain discretion (confidentiality agreement is required)

• Ability to be discreet with respect for employer’s privacy

• Professional presentation of self and great personality

• Ability to easily take direction

• Strong ability to communicate and collaborate efficiently and effectively with principals, family office and domestic employees

• Positive attitude and ability to handle position with ease and calm demeanor

• Active, energetic, engaging, nurturing and creative

• Proactive, resourceful and take initiative to get things done

• Ability to multi-task

• Non-Smoker

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bilingual in Spanish and English (Native Spanish speaking)

• Bachelor’s degree is desirable, but not required

• Passionate about education, child development, etc.

• 5-10+ years of full-time consistent and recent nanny experience

• 3-4 references from professional positions

• Seeking longevity (e.g., 2-5+ year commitment)

• Lives a close proximity to the family’s residences in Wellington, Florida 

• Ability to swim and snow ski

• Eligible to work in the United States

• Ability to complete extensive background checks, motor vehicle checks, drug tests and psychological evaluation

• Driver’s license and clean driving record

• CPR Certification

• Vaccinations (e.g., COVID-19, MMR, TDap, Flu shot)

• Comfortable with animals (family has estate with horses, dogs, cat, birds, rabbits, tortoises, etc.)

COMPENSATION:

• $100K+ gross (based on experience and qualifications)
