Full-Time Nanny for Infant: $80K+ and Benefits

Family in Brentwood, Tennessee is seeking an educated, experienced, engaging, professional and organized full-time nanny for their infant boy (born in March 2021). Schedule is on Monday – Friday at 8:00am – 4:00pm. Flexibility is required with scheduling to work occasional later weekday evenings and weekends. Nanny is required to travel internationally and domestically approximately 6-8+ weeks per year and work overnights at residence when parents are traveling without child approximately 1-2+ weeks annually. Family spends the month of January in Colorado and travels to Hawaii once per year (week or long weekend). Nanny should be comfortable working many days consecutively (e.g., if traveling for 2-4+ weeks at a time). Applicants need to be honest, trustworthy, understand the importance of maintaining discretion, collaborative and experienced working with principals that are at residence often (discreet and staying out of the way is important). Candidates must be comfortable with small hypoallergenic dog. Safe vehicle for transportation is ideal, but not required. Family is open to local candidates in Nashville and domestic relocations. Start date is September 2021, but flexible for the right candidate. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Infant experience and knowledgeable about routines, sleep training, reading and communicating to baby as often as possible 
  • Track daily and developmental milestones through app or paper/journal (e.g., tummy time, feedings, sleep, diaper changes, reading, etc.)
  • Play-based learning and create educational activities (e.g., planned engaging activities at home, developmentally appropriate games and activities, engaging projects and crafts, scheduled outings, etc.)
  • Support teaching and reinforcement of manners and other social skills
  • Provide developmentally appropriate games and activities, engaging projects and crafts at home, and schedule/plan fun outings and events 
  • Assist child with homework, school projects, studying for tests, etc. and keep principals informed of progress and needs (when age appropriate)
  • Transport child to and from school, activities, play dates, camps, etc. (when age appropriate)
  • Make pureed baby food for infant or follow baby-led weaning if preferred by principals
  • Fresh and healthy meal planning and preparation for child
  • Pack child’s healthy lunches and bags for the following day (e.g., ensure all school work is completed, pack gear for sports and activities, etc.) (when age appropriate)
  • Pack and unpack child for trips/travel (create pack lists in advance to ensure child has everything needed prior to travel) 
  • Inventory checklists for child’s essentials and order through Amazon, Instacart, etc.
  • Miscellaneous projects around residence (e.g., washing dishes after child’s meals, loading and unloading dishwasher, washing bottles and breast pump parts, stocking diapers and wipes, child’s laundry, etc.)
  • Organizational projects (e.g., child’s bedroom, playroom (toys, crafts, etc.), closets, rotating toys and books, rotating clothes seasonally, getting rid of outgrown toys and clothing, taking things for donation, etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Capable of building rapport with similar aged children (infants, toddlers, school aged, etc.) 
  • Knowledgeable about child development (e.g., firm when necessary and capable of teaching child manners and etiquette, but also capable of being laid back and fun) 
  • Ability to travel internationally and domestically whenever necessary 
  • Highly organized, detail oriented, proactive, excellent time management, efficient and service focused
  • Attentive to principals’ preferences and style (intuitive to their needs)
  • Observant to the needs of family to anticipate their needs 
  • Ability to maintain discretion (confidentiality agreement is required)
  • Ability to be discreet with respect for employer’s privacy
  • Professional presentation of self and great personality 
  • Ability to easily take direction 
  • Strong ability to communicate and collaborate efficiently and effectively with principals (extension of parents and consistent childcare philosophies)
  • Positive attitude, energetic, easy going, open minded, personable, patient, flexible, engaging, hard working and collaborative individual (receptive to feedback and constructive criticism) 
  • Active and fit (family has outdoor swimming pool)
  • Non-Smoker

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experienced working with at least two to three children in nanny position (family hopes to have at least one more child in the next few years)
  • 2-5+ years of consistent and recent experience working as a full-time nanny
  • 2-3+ references from domestic positions
  • Seeking longevity/long term commitment (e.g., at least 2-5+ years)
  • Live a close proximity to the family’s residence in Brentwood, Tennessee (within 30 minute commute) or willingness to relocate to Nashville, Tennessee
  • Safe vehicle for transportation is ideal, but not required
  • Ability to complete extensive background checks, motor vehicle checks, drug tests and psychological evaluation 
  • Driver’s license and clean driving record 
  • Vaccinations (e.g., MMR, TDap, Flu Shot, COVID-19) 
  • COVID-19 testing and antibodies testing
  • Pediatric CPR Certification
  • Comfortable with small hypoallergenic dog (Maltese Yorkie)

COMPENSATION:

  • $80K+ gross annual salary (based on experience and qualifications)
  • Overtime gross rate for hours worked over 40 hours per week
  • Gas reimbursement (if driving own vehicle for transporting child)
  • $500 gross per month health insurance stipend
  • $150 gross per overnight (working overnights at residence and while traveling with family)
  • Relocation Stipend (if candidate is relocating to Tennessee)
  • Two weeks (10 days) paid vacation
  • Seven government holidays paid
  • Five sick days paid
  • Discretionary annual bonus and raise (performance evaluation required)
