Family with main residence in Wellington, Florida is seeking a professional, experienced, creative and detail oriented Full-Time Private Chef to prepare healthy meals. The schedule for position is five or six days per week, which include a combination of weekdays and weekends. Flexibility to work holidays and events is required for position. Private chef must be willing to travel with family to other residence in Cape Code, Massachusetts. Position is typically based in Cape Cod during May through September/October and based in Wellington during September/October through April/May. The position requires extreme flexibility as family’s schedule changes at various times in the year (e.g., school holidays, summer, travel, etc.). Family has large organic farm in Cape Cod where private chef will prepare list daily for farm staff to bring them all requested fresh ingredients. Private chef is expected to prepare meals for family from scratch for lunch and dinner (breakfast is usually prepared by housekeepers) and simple/basic staff meals. Candidates must be comfortable working collaboratively with family office and fully staffed residences (e.g., estate manager, house managers, housekeepers, nannies, etc.). Ideal candidate has a culinary certificate or degree, bachelor’s degree, 5-10+ years of consistent and recent domestic experience as a full-time private chef, knowledgeable and experienced with clean and healthy cooking, understands the importance of maintaining discretion, discreet and calm demeanor, comfortable working around children and animals (family has estate with horses, dogs, birds, rabbits, etc.), assertive, positive, proactive, organized and detail oriented, service focused, kind, respectful, seeking longevity and has a flexible schedule. Safe vehicle for transportation is required. Family is open to local candidates and domestic relocations. Start date is ASAP, but flexible for the right candidate.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Creativity in preparing healthy and clean meals (organic food required)

• Preparing foods based around specific diets (e.g., gluten free, vegan, etc.)

• Keeping up-to-date on the latest culinary trends and fads

• Experienced with planning menus for principals, children and events

• Creating lists and ordering or shopping for fresh foods

• Professional presence and experience in food presentation and table setting is mandatory

• White glove serving of meals to family

• All food preparation and kitchen related duties along with grocery shopping

• High standards of health and hygiene with food

• Properly storing ingredients and leftovers

• Coordinating cooking and serving times with principals, children and domestic employees

• Cleaning and tidying kitchen after each use

• Maintaining all kitchen equipment

• Interactions with extended family, friends and business associates for holiday meals, lunches and events at residences

• Providing hospitality and service to visitors and guests (including formal service when hosting small private events)

• Ensure pantry, refrigerator and wine cellar are properly stocked in accordance with the family’s travel and entertaining schedules

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to travel internationally and domestically whenever necessary

• Highly organized, detail oriented, proactive, excellent time management, efficient and service focused

• Attentive to family’s preferences and style (intuitive to their needs)

• Ability to maintain discretion (confidentiality agreement is required)

• Ability to be discreet with respect for family’s privacy

• Professional presentation of self and great personality

• Ability to easily take direction

• Strong ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with family, domestic staff and family office

• Discreet and understand the importance of when to be present and when to be hidden

• Positive attitude and ability to handle private chef responsibilities with ease and calm demeanor

• Active and fit

• Non-Smoker

REQUIREMENTS:

• Culinary degree or certificate

• Bachelor’s degree is desirable, but not required

• Bilingual in Spanish and English is desirable, but not required

• 5-10+ years of consistent and recent domestic experience as a full-time private chef

• 3-4 references from domestic and/or professional positions

• Eligible to work in the United States

• United States passport

• Safe vehicle for transportation

• Driver’s license and clean driving record

• Extensive background checks, motor vehicle checks, drug tests and psychological evaluation

• COVID-19 testing and antibodies testing

• Seeking longevity/long term commitment (e.g., at least 2-5+ years)

• Live a close proximity to family’s main residence in Wellington, Florida or willingness to relocate

• Comfortable with animals (family has estate with horses, dogs, birds, rabbits, etc.)

COMPENSATION:

• $120K+ gross annual salary (based on experience and qualifications)

• Health insurance (including dental and vision)

• 401K plan (3% match – Safe Harbor)

• Discretionary annual bonus and raise (performance evaluation required)

• Furnished living is provided for private chef at estate in Cape Cod, Massachusetts
