Family with main residence in Pacific Heights of San Francisco, California is seeking a professional, experienced, creative and detail oriented full-time private chef to prepare healthy meals. The schedule for position is Monday – Friday lunch and dinner. Lunch is served between 12:30-1:00pm and dinner served between 6:30-7:30pm. Some flexibility may be required to work longer shifts, later evenings, weekends, holidays, and events. The position requires extreme flexibility as family’s schedule changes at various times in the year (e.g., summer, holidays, travel, etc.). Private chef is expected to prepare meals for family from scratch for lunch and dinner and simple/basic staff meals. Private chef is expected to prepare meals for weekend that will be left in fridge on Friday. Candidates must be comfortable working collaboratively with principals and domestic employees (e.g., house manager, housekeeper, nannies, baby nurse, etc.). Ideal candidate has a culinary certificate or degree, bachelor’s degree, 5-10+ years of consistent and recent domestic experience as a full-time private chef, knowledgeable and experienced with clean and healthy cooking, understands the importance of maintaining discretion, discreet and calm demeanor, comfortable working around children, assertive, positive, proactive, organized and detail oriented, service focused, kind, respectful, seeking longevity and has a flexible schedule. Family is open to local candidates and domestic relocations. Start date is flexible for the right candidate.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Creativity in preparing meals (organic food required and no allergies or dietary restrictions)

• Prepare foods based around local farm sourcing and availability (principals are foodies and travel the world for food)

• Keep up-to-date on the latest culinary trends and fads

• Experienced with planning menus for principals, children and events

• Create lists, order ingredients and shop for fresh foods utilizing nearby farms

• Professional presence and experience in food presentation and table setting is mandatory

• All food preparation and kitchen related duties along with grocery shopping

• High standards of health and hygiene with food

• Properly storing ingredients and leftovers

• Coordinate serving times with principals, children and domestic employees

• Clean and tidy kitchen after each use

• Maintain all kitchen equipment

• Interactions with extended family, friends and business associates for holiday meals, lunches and events at residences

• Provide hospitality and service to visitors and guests (including semi-formal to formal service when hosting small private events and holidays)

• Ensure pantry and refrigerator are properly stocked in accordance with the family’s travel and entertaining schedules

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Highly organized, detail oriented, proactive, excellent time management, efficient and service focused

• Attentive to family’s preferences and style (intuitive to their needs)

• Ability to maintain discretion (confidentiality agreement is required)

• Ability to be discreet with respect for family’s privacy

• Professional presentation of self and great personality

• Ability to easily take direction

• Strong ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with family, domestic staff and family office

• Discreet and understand the importance of when to be present and when to be hidden

• Positive attitude and ability to handle private chef responsibilities with ease and calm demeanor

• Active and fit

• Non-Smoker

REQUIREMENTS:

• Culinary degree, certificate or complimentary high-end restaurant tenure

• Bachelor’s degree

• 5-10+ years of consistent and recent full-time private chef experience

• 3-4 references from domestic positions

• United States passport

• Safe vehicle for transportation

• Driver’s license and clean driving record

• Extensive background checks, motor vehicle checks, drug tests and psychological evaluation

• COVID-19 vaccination(s)

• COVID-19 testing and antibodies testing

• Seeking longevity (e.g., at least 2-5+ year commitment)

• Live a close proximity to family’s main residence in Pacific Heights or willingness to relocate within a reasonable commute

• Comfortable working around children 

COMPENSATION:

• $175K+ gross annual salary (based on experience and qualifications)
