Newborn Care Specialist/Baby Nurse: $800+ Per Day

Family with main residence in Pacific Heights of San Francisco, California with seven month old boy and baby due in May 2022 is seeking a nurturing, experienced and knowledgeable live in 24/7 newborn care specialist / baby nurse. The position is for seven days per week. Newborn care specialist / baby nurse must be willing to travel internationally and domestically with family. The contract for position is at least eight month commitment (e.g., May 9, 2022 – January 15, 2023). Applicants need to be honest, trustworthy, understand the importance of maintaining discretion (confidentiality agreement required), collaborative and experienced working with family office and domestic staff (house manager, private chef, housekeeper, nannies, etc.) and experienced working with principals that are at residence often (discreet and staying out of the way is important). Family is open to local or national (United States) candidates, as they are seeking the best fit. Start date is May 9, 2022.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Knowledgeable about sleep training and overseeing this process when age and developmentally appropriate (following sleep philosophies preferred by principals)

• Track feedings and diaper changes through use of log and/or iPad app (e.g., Baby Connect)

• Comfortable and experienced working with breast milk

• Speak, read and sing to baby as often as possible

• Stock inventory in nursery (e.g., diapers, wipes, ointments, etc.), clean bottles and ensure nursery is tidy

• When stocked items are running low on supply, inform house manager to order what is needed or order through Amazon (based on preference of principals)

• Wash child’s laundry if necessary (housekeeper will be responsible for majority of laundry, linens, etc.)

• Pack and unpack child for travel

• Ensure diaper bag is always packed with required/requested items to grab and leave whenever necessary

• Introducing solids with pureed baby food or baby-led weaning (based on preferences of principals) when age and developmentally appropriate

• Work collaboratively with domestic employees, family office and principals

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to travel internationally and domestically whenever necessary

• Capable of soothing baby through various techniques (babies have varying approaches for soothing)

• Highly organized, detail oriented, proactive, excellent time management, efficient and service focused

• Attentive to principal’s preferences and style (intuitive to their needs)

• Observant to the needs of family to anticipate their needs (e.g., preparing bottle for a family outing without staff, ready on time when responsible for assisting family on outing, etc.).

• Ability to maintain discretion (confidentiality agreement is required)

• Ability to be discreet with respect for employer’s privacy (e.g., present when preferred by family and hidden when necessary)

• Professional presentation of self and great personality

• Strong ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with domestic staff, family office, and principals

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing and/or doula background is ideal, but is not required

• 5-10+ years of newborn care specialist and/or baby nurse experience

• 2-3+ references from domestic positions

• Ability to complete extensive background checks, motor vehicle checks, drug tests and psychological evaluation

• Driver’s license and clean driving record

• Eligible to work in the United States

• United States passport

• CPR Certification

• Vaccinations (COVID-19, MMR, TDap, Flu Shot, etc.) 

• COVID-19 testing and antibodies testing

COMPENSATION:

• $800+ per day gross (taxed) 

• One week deposit due at signing of contract 

• Flights covered to and from position 

• Food provided daily from private chef
