Two Full-Time Rotational Companions/Aids: $100K+ and Benefits

Couple with main residence in the Gold Coast of Chicago is seeking two educated, experienced and professional full-time RN or BSN companions/aids. Schedule will be spilt between two full-time employees to ensure they have seven day per week coverage. Each employee should expect to work three to four days per week, which includes weekdays and weekends. This schedule will ensure that each employee works half the time (approximately 26.5 weeks per year), receives approximately two weekends off per month and minimal travel is split annually. Companion/Aids will create monthly schedules approximately two to three months in advance. Couple occasionally travels domestically to other residences and employees must be willing to travel if needed. Applicants need to be honest, trustworthy, understand the importance of maintaining discretion, collaborative and experienced working with domestic staff (full-time housekeeper and part-time driver), experienced working with principals that are at residence often (discreet and staying out of the way is important) and willing to provide the best quality of care. Staff vehicle is provided for transporting principal and running errands. These are newly created positions. Family is open to local candidates in Chicago and domestic relocations. Start date is flexible for the right candidates. 


• Transport and accompany principal to doctor’s appointments, appointments, events, etc. 

• Accompany principal on outings (e.g., coffee, ice cream, restaurant reservations, etc.)

• Accompany principal on daily walks to ensure they are getting adequate exercise and fresh air

• Fresh and healthy meal planning and preparation for principal

• Inventory checklists for household items, food, principal’s essentials, etc. and ordering through Amazon, Instacart, etc.

• Run errands (e.g., grocery shopping, shopping for home supplies, returns, purchasing gifts for family members, and other requested items)

• Handle things around the home (e.g., receiving deliveries, service providers, contractors, sending emails, going through mail and sorting bills and junk, etc.)

• Assist domestic staff with projects when necessary (e.g., creating a collaborative/team environment)

• Ensure pantry and refrigerator are properly stocked in accordance with the principal’s travel and entertaining schedules

• Ensure principal is prompt and ready for routine weekly appointments (e.g., personal trainer two days per week, etc.)

• Utilize nursing knowledge and skills to perform nursing functions using the established procedures, policies, guidelines and standards recommended by medical professionals

• Administer medications as directed by medical professionals

• Maintain and coordinate communication among patient, family members, and medical professionals

• Report need for medical treatments to family members

• Report change in health and behaviors to family members

• Future potential need for assisting principal with daily routines (e.g., bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, drinking, etc.)

• Manage principal’s schedule and calendar

• Schedule meetings with family office, family members, principals as needed to discuss their schedules, travel plans, upcoming events, special projects, etc. 


• Ability to travel domestically whenever necessary 

• Highly organized, detail oriented, proactive, excellent time management, efficient and service focused

• Attentive to principals’ preferences and style (intuitive to their needs)

• Observant to the needs of principals and home to anticipate their needs 

• Ability to maintain discretion (confidentiality agreement is required)

• Ability to be discreet with respect for employer’s privacy

• Professional presentation of self and great personality 

• Ability to easily take direction 

• Strong ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with principals, family members, friends, family office and domestic employees

• Positive attitude and ability to handle principals with ease and calm demeanor

• High energy level

• Non-Smoker 


• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Registered Nurse (RN)

• 2-5+ years of full-time consistent and recent companion/aid experience (domestic experience is most ideal, but not required) 

• Experienced working with and knowledgeable about Dementia

• Experience working with high net worth and/or ultra high net worth individuals 

• 2-3+ professional references 

• Seeking longevity/long term commitment (e.g., at least 2-5+ years)

• Ability to complete extensive background checks, motor vehicle checks, drug tests and psychological evaluation 

• COVID-19 vaccination(s)

• COVID-19 testing and antibodies testing

• Driver’s license and clean driving record 


• $100K+ gross annual salary (based on experience and qualifications) 

• $500 gross per month health insurance stipend 

• Two weeks (10 days) paid vacation 

• Five sick days paid 

• Discretionary annual bonus and raise (performance evaluation required)
